Liquid damage remains one of the most difficult tasks to tackle with regards to tablet repairs. With liquid-based damage, anything could happen to the components of your tablet.
If you do not act fast, a tablet affected with liquid damage has much less of a chance of being fully repaired, if at all. Therefore, if your tablet has suffered any form of water damage, you should ensure the device is switched off and brought in to be looked at immediately.
Our Process
Our SmartFix water damage service consists of three stages;
First: We start with disassembly to ascertain if any components have been damaged. We thoroughly clean all damaged components of potential corrosion an check for further damage. Once fully cleaned, the testing process will commence which usually requires a few hours. After re-assembly, the tablet is tested to ensure it is fully working.
Second: If the tablet still fails to work, we look to pinpoint the cause of the fault. Very often a tablet can require a new battery, charging port or a repair to the motherboard. If the motherboard cannot be repaired, we will quote you for a repair or source a replacement. We will also look at trying to recover any data from the device if required.
Third: Is completing the repair. Liquid damage repair can be a long process, but we will keep you updated every step of the way. If the tablet cannot be repaired because a replacement part cannot be sourced or proves uneconomical, we will let you know and charge you only for our cleaning and diagnostics.
